The bright brilliant and serene Sunday was changed to be a fateful day after the mouths of many students in the campus and other people around were left wide open by the dead body of the 1 day old baby boy in a paper bag at the Soweto rubbish pit.
The baby who was found by some children who were in their daily duty of finding some precious items at the pit, was well tied in the paper together with his umbilical cord tied severally along his neck and clots of blood all over his body which brought it out that it was a newly born baby just denied his right of life and later disposed in the green paper bag. The murder case was also evidenced by the mother’s clothes, totally wet in fresh blood that was disposed just beside the baby.
So many people condemned the event but the questions that rang and still disturbing most of them is “why did the mother decide to waste the boy?” were it willingly or a catch -22? The environment surrounding the incident cannot really explain the reason but it’s the parents who are aware of the inner core of the whole story.
The baby boy was later taken by the police for a better resting place for his soul. All we can say is “REST IN PEACE BABY BOY.
Kadzo Sylvia.
